Lincolnshire Association of Woodturners
The club
The aims of the club are to promote the art of woodturning, to facilitate communication between local woodturners, and to encourage the development of skills. In pursuit of these aims we have set out to arrange a varied programme of demonstrations, talks, slide presentations, videos and competitions.
Demonstrations have been provided by our own members and by
visitors. The visitors in the early days included such well known turners such as Viv Collins, Phil Reardon,
Reg Slack, Chris Stott, Jamie Walwin, and Keith Rowley. Many others have come since then. Talks and slide presentations have covered subjects such as the drying of wood and the history of wood turning.
The highlight of 1998 was the first 'Woodturning Spectacular' which was held at Fullbeck Hall in June.
This event featured a number of well known manufacturers and demonstrators and drew
some 500 visitors. The show was successfully repeated in 1999. It will be held again in 2000.
There is an entrance fee of £1.00 for members attending the ordinary evening meetings. Fees for other meetings will depend on the nature of the event.
